Blog Comment Spam is an on going problem for all Bloggers using WordPress. With a handful of spam plugins for WordPress, mostly filter types, it seemed logical to hunt down a WordPress Plugin, which uses a security word to verify human posters.
A quick search on Google for “comment+spam+wordpress+plugin+image” returned exactly what was needed. Listed #3 was a link to Peter’s Custom Anti-Spam Image Plugin for WordPress, which has the anti-spam plugin what I was looking for.
The hacked up plugin does not require ImageMagick, a bonus in my eyes. Also, the displayed font can be modified giving you control over how easy or complex it is to read the security image.
